Intro to the California Legal Systems

This class will review the criminal justice system including the identification of each sub system (law enforcement, judicial, and corrections), including the roles and responsibilities of each segment and how they interact with each other; the criminal and civil laws, including the processing of criminal defendants from the original arrest through the court process and the sentencing options of the judge; look at and compare both criminal and civil cases, including the different processes involved in each type of case; and a review of the role expectations of each class participant involved in the different areas of the legal system.
