Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

A. 72 hours prior to class time (ex. If the class is Wednesday beginning at 8:30 a.m., you need to email your cancellation request to euregis@co.santa-barbara.ca.us anytime BEFORE 8:30 a.m. the Friday before since the county is closed during the weekends and can’t fill spaces during those days).

Q. Who can I ask about the account numbers that are needed on my registration form?

A. Your supervisor or department’s business manager should know. If you do not know your dept’s business manager, call the EU at ext. 1740 to ask who we have on our list.

Q. Do I need to provide the account numbers even if there is no charge for the class?

A. Yes. In order for us to enter your registration in the database, valid account numbers must be provided.

Q. How late can I register for a class?

A. You can register as late as the afternoon before (with the exception of the 8-hour computer classes) but it is suggested that you register as soon as possible in order to assure you get into the class or be notified if there are any schedule changes. Starting in Fall 2006, you must register no later than 1 week before class in order to secure a seat for the 8-hour (2 half-day) computer classes. Since it is now coordinated through Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) we share the seats with several other local organizations.

Q. How can I obtain my EU transcript?

A. You can send your request for your transcript to euregis@co.santa-barbara.ca.us and we can email it to you.

Q. When should I expect to receive an email confirmation about my registration?

A. You should receive an email confirmation within 2 days we receive it. If you don’t receive one, please call the EU immediately at ext. 1740 to see if we’ve received it.

Q. Can I get a copy of course materials?

A. No because we can’t guarantee you’ll get the full benefit without attending the class.

Q. How can I benefit from the EU?

A. EU classes, with the exception of those course numbers beginning with EXT, are accredited through Santa Barbara City College (SBCC). The regular EU classes also fall under the EU certificate programs which you can also achieve. EU classes are designed to be applicable to your workplace.

Q. If classes are accredited through Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) but I’m taking classes at Allan Hancock College (AHC), can I transfer them over?

A. Yes, simply request Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) to transfer your transcript to Allan Hancock (AHC) when you’re ready for them to review your transcripts.

Q. When is your schedule released?

A. The schedules are released on the EU website as follows:

Winter-Spring (January – May) first week of January

Summer (July–August) mid-June

Fall (September – December) first week of September

Q. When can I request to reserve one of your rooms at the EU Center?

A. When the current semester is released. We can only take reservations covering the months of the current semester in order to be able to schedule our upcoming one.
